Action santé travesti(e)s & transsexuel(le)s du Québec (ASTTeQ)

ASTT(e)Q aims to promote the health and wellbeing of trans people through peer support and accompaniment. ASTT(e)Q provides free and confidential counselling and holds drop-in sessions every Monday night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.


Centre de solidarité lesbienne

This organization provides a support group for lesbians who have been victims of domestic violence, along with workshops on the health and general situation of lesbian women. It also has a documentation centre.

Aide aux transsexuels et transsexuelles du Québec (ATQ)

The ATQ provides help, crisis counselling and referral services by phone and email, and also offers a support group for transsexual people.


Gai écoute

Gai Écoute is a free and confidential phone help and referral service. The organization also provides help through email and chat sessions, as well as an inventory of online resources. It has set up the Register of Homophobic Acts, through which victims and witnesses of homophobic acts are able to make anonymous, confidential reports online, or by telephone, email or regular mail.

LGBT Family Coalition

The Coalition des familles homoparentales defends the interests of homosexual, bisexual and transgender parents and their children. It offers social activities and workshops for LGBT people in Montréal, Québec City and Outaouais who want to become parents, and also provides training for school personnel.

GLBT Québec / Lutte à l’homophobie defends the rights of LGBT people in Québec and helps to prevent homophobia by organizing artistic, community, social and political events for the general public in the National Capital region.

Conseil québécois LGBT

The Conseil québécois LGBT is the leading human rights defence organization for LGBT people in Québec. It acts on behalf of the LGBT community and deals with the Government on issues relating to the wellbeing and living conditions of LGBT people.


Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse

The Commission's mandate is to promote and uphold the principles stated in Québec’s Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, including the right to equality and the prohibition of discrimination, notably on the basis of sexual orientation. For this purpose, it can receive complaints in matters of discrimination, carry out investigations and, eventually, apply to a court to have the issue resolved.

Its L’Accès service provides a space for young lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) people aged 14 to 25, along with crisis counselling, help and referral services. The organization also offers a sponsorship service for young LGB people aged 14 to 25, as well as crisis counselling and support services for their parents.
